DEKA is the decathlon of hybrid racing, designed to allow ALL levels the opportunity to celebrate the power of fitness. Train for DEKA at Battle Arts Academy.
The DEKA Training System (DTS) is a unique approach that will elevate your confidence, improve daily performance and help you be the best version of you!
Each DEKA group class is scheduled for 60 minutes.
Each class is fun, fast-paced, and incorporates a variety of exercises, DEKA equipment, and all primary movement patterns for a fun, full-body workout every time.
The DEKA Foundations Program includes three one-on-one sessions with a certified coach to serve as an introduction to foundational movements like squats, deadlifts, lunges, presses, push ups, rows, sit ups, etc, and hands-on guidance with the equipment used in the DEKA group classes.
You will learn how to scale the movements for when you get into the group classes, get a walk-through of the DEKA class formats, and each personal training session will conclude with a small taste of a DEKA workout.
These introductory sessions provide space for you to ask any questions, move at your own pace, build confidence, and allow our coach to assess any special needs or attention that you may need during the group classes.
After your three one-on-one sessions, you will receive a 3-week trial pass for the DEKA group classes.
Come out and test the 10 DEKA STRONG stations in competition order, so you can test your fitness, track your time, assess your progress, and practise transitions with your partner.
DEKA Trial Runs are scheduled a few weeks before any DEKA race. Space is limited, so be sure to grab your spot ASAP.
Choose between a Trial Run ticket (trial only), or Trial Run + 30 minutes of coaching from one of our DEKA Coaches.
The 30-minute coaching session is one-on-one time with a DEKA Coach to receive video review and feedback on how to improve your technique and get faster.

DEKA events are not just a competition, they are a milestone of your fitness journey. In the same arena, on the same day, using the exact standards, every level of fitness can come together and celebrate fitness.
Having an event on your calendar can be a game changer for your motivation – now you’re not exercising anymore, you’re training with a purpose!
Initial DEKA testing provides you with a benchmark. Consistent training will improve your fitness level.
Periodic testing will provide proof that the time you’ve invested in your training has improved your fitness. Keeping a DEKA event on the calendar helps to ensure training adherence.
No matter what your current fitness level is, you are an athlete who trains with the purpose of becoming a stronger version of yourself every time you get a new DEKA mark.
The DEKA Mark is a new standard of testing designed to establish an objective baseline of fitness that will motivate you to consistently push your body. It’s standardized, allowing you to improve over time and compare your results to all DEKA athletes around the world.
DEKA is suitable for all levels of fitness, with a common goal of enhancing exercise adherence and promoting fitness. To provide fitness benchmarks and celebrate fitness improvements, DEKA offers three testing and competition opportunities with DEKA STRONG, DEKA MILE, and DEKA FIT.
All three provide our 10 functional fitness zones (DEKA Zones), which are based on rudimentary movements. They are a well-rounded, low barrier to entry experience for beginners while also providing an exceptional test for high-level athletes.
Each DEKA group class is scheduled for 60 minutes. Each class is fun, fast-paced, and incorporates the DEKA equipment and all primary movement patterns for a full-body workout every time.
It doesn’t matter if you are new to fitness or a fire-breathing beast, each DEKA group class incorporates independent stations. Each class runs on time, not by reps, allowing you to move at your own pace that works for you, making it a perfect class for both beginners and advanced athletes to train alongside each other and motivate each other.
